ONE 169 premieres on U.S. primetime on Prime Video this Friday, November 8, and the two main event athletes are already sparking excitement. Anatoly Malykhin, the three-division champion of ONE Championship, is openly expressing his determination against his latest challenger, “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane. Their tensions have already led to a confrontation at the athlete hotel.
During a recording of Kane, Malykhin stepped in front of the camera and confidently declared his intent to defeat “Reug Reug” on Friday. The Senegalese star maintained a smile until their face-to-face encounter turned intense.
“One shot, head shot. Three days. One shot. This guy, sleep. One shot,” Malykhin boldly stated in the video.
After Malykhin pushed Kane away by placing his fist on his chest, the heavyweight challenger responded. Their teams intervened to calm the escalating situation between the main event fighters of ONE 169. However, the verbal exchange persisted during the press conference.
“I just feel that he’s not a real champion because of the way he won his belt. Beating the same guy twice doesn’t make him a real champion,” Kane expressed.
Every time “Reug Reug” tried to speak, Malykhin mockingly nicknamed him “Slow Mo.” The reigning ONE Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, and Middleweight World Champion displayed his unwavering confidence while taking jabs at the Senegalese wrestling star.
“This guy is very powerful. He has good power. African power. Good balance? No. He’s very, very slow. No good breathing. Easy work. Easy money. I see this guy, this guy is in danger. 8 November, easy work. ‘Slow Mo,’” Malykhin retorted.
Amidst their verbal sparring, their actions will ultimately be the focus on Friday, November 8, at ONE 169. The event is headlined by their heavyweight championship bout, setting the stage for an electrifying main event.
ONE 169 will be broadcast live on Prime Video on Friday, November 8, starting at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
