The Los Angeles Dodgers sealed their rotation late Tuesday night with a five-year, $182 million agreement with two-time Cy Young award winner Blake Snell.

Snell is coming off a strong 2024 season with the San Francisco Giants, posting a 3.12 ERA across 20 starts. However, he excelled in the second half, boasting a 1.45 ERA over his final 12 starts.
With Snell now on board, the Dodgers’ rotation is arguably the best in baseball with four top-notch starters. Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and Shohei Ohtani are all aces, expected to lead the rotation for the Dodgers in 2025 and beyond.
Following the main four, the Dodgers have multiple options for the bottom of the rotation. Tony Gonsolin is healthy for the upcoming season, and Dustin May and Bobby Miller also remain as choices. In addition, there are talks about re-signing Clayton Kershaw, whose season may be delayed due to recent surgeries.
With a surplus of starting pitching, the Dodgers are favored to sign Japanese superstar Roki Sasaki after Jan. 15, potentially adding to their pitching depth for the upcoming season.
The signing of Snell may impact the future of free agents Walker Buehler and Jack Flaherty with the team. Flaherty is unlikely to return due to market dynamics, while Buehler may still have a chance to stay as the No. 6 starter. However, Buehler may seek other opportunities where he can be a consistent top rotation starter.
