Mike Tyson has openly admitted that he is still dealing with health issues just weeks before his highly anticipated return fight against Jake Paul.
Despite facing various medical problems in recent years, the former heavyweight champion is gearing up for a comeback scheduled for November 15 on Netflix against the popular YouTuber. Tyson, who is now 58, has emphasized that his motivation for stepping back into the ring is not financial.
“I want to challenge myself and push my limits. I want to truly test myself and show the world what I’m capable of,” Tyson expressed. “From a young age, all I knew was how to fight. This fight is not about money for me. It’s about personal fulfillment and performing on a big stage.”
Despite the grueling six-hour training sessions he undergoes daily, Tyson acknowledges the toll it has taken on his body, stating that he currently struggles to walk. However, he remains confident that he will be in top shape by the time of the fight.
While some may question Tyson’s decision to return to the ring at his age, he remains undeterred by the critics, citing the examples of other fighters who have attempted comebacks in their late 50s. However, with Jake Paul being a formidable opponent and Tyson’s past history of knockouts, there is no denying the challenge that lies ahead.
