The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is excited to announce the recipients of the 2024 ITA College Coach Opportunity Grant. This grant program was created in 2018 to provide an additional avenue for select coaches to attend the ITA Coaches Convention.Â
Now in its fifth year, this grant provides free registration to all recipients as well as a travel stipend that aims to assist minority coaches in their continuing education and networking efforts while bringing a different perspective to the discussions at the convention.
Making up the 2024 ITA College Coach Opportunity Grant Recipients are:
Trang Dao, Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach, Smith College
Hernan Geria, Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach, Jackson State University

The 2024 ITA Coaches Convention will take place from November 15-17 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the campus of SMU in Dallas, Texas. This year, the convention will be hosted in November so that coaches can enjoy more time off with family and friends during the holiday season. These dates fall the weekend before the 2024 NCAA Division I Individual Championships in Waco, Texas. This scheduling aims to allow coaches an opportunity to network and develop professionally before taking the short drive to coach or watch the NCAA Division I Individual Championships.
