With a perfect 9-0 start, they will look to extend their winning streak to double digits as they play the Indiana Fever on Saturday, June 14.
They have returned to full health after 2024 WNBA Finals star Nyara Sabally returned to action in her first career WNBA start. She had missed the Liberty’s last six games due to swelling in the same knee she had surgery on in 2022.

Nyara Sabally withdraws from the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket tournament
As the former No. 5 overall pick continues to get back to healthy form, Sabally made a huge decision on whether she will follow other WNBA players in participating in the 2025 women’s FIBA EuroBasket Tournament that takes place from June 18-29.

It’s been announced that the 25-year-old center withdrew from the tournament and won’t play for Germany in the tournament.
“I made the difficult decision not to participate in EuroBasket this summer. I am disappointed to miss the tournament with my team and not be able to represent Germany this year as I had planned. It is not easy for me, but given the rehabilitation for my knee, the intensive EuroBasket schedule, and the tight WNBA calendar, I have to prioritize my health with a view to my long-term goals with the national team,” Sabally explained after the announcement.
While Nyara Sabally has been monitoring her knee issues, she believes that limiting her play while recovering will be better for her rather than testing the workload with risk of suffering another injury.

So far this season, Sabally has averaged 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 75% from the field in three games played.
She broke out in the Liberty’s WNBA championship clinching game in 2024 when she finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, one steal, and one block in the game.
