The 2025 Tour of the Alps will feature short yet challenging mountain stages as it travels from Trentino, Italy to Lienz, Austria in late April.
This five-day tour is considered an ideal preparation for the upcoming Giro d’Italia, with previous winners like Juan Pedro Lopez (Lidl-Trek), Ben O’Connor (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), and Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) participating in 2025.
Trentino is expected to bid for hosting the 2031 UCI World Championships, showcasing the cycling potential of the area as an outdoor destination. In 2025, Trentino will also host mountain bike World Cup races.
The Euro-regional Tour of the Alps will take place from April 21-25 next year, starting after Easter and concluding before Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
The race route details were revealed in Riva del Garda, where the AIOCC race organizers association held their annual meeting to discuss race calendars, safety, and pro cycling reforms.
The 2025 Tour of the Alps will consist of five stages covering 739 kilometers with 14,700 meters of elevation gain, starting from San Lorenzo Dorsino and passing through Vipiteno-Racines, San Candido, and concluding in Osttirol.
The final stage in Lienz will be a 113-kilometer test, reminiscent of the 2022 dramatic finale.
