The second edition of my recap from the TCU Elite Camp targets the 2027 class. A good pool of prospects were there and let’s dive into who stood out to me from the rising junior class.

Jacques Mitchell Was The Best 2027 I Saw

The Booker T. Washington (Tulsa, Okla.) point guard was, in my opinion, the best 2027 performer due to balance of playmaking and scoring. The most impressive ability Mitchell has is his live dribble passing chops. He can make accurate passes off the dribble with either hand. He used his broad frame to initiate contact on drives and it created space to connect on finishes to the rim. He’s one to keep tabs of and could see his stock soar during the 2025-26 school year.

2027 Standouts

David Baliraine. 6’9 C – Dynamic Prep: Long arms and broad shoulders is what David is equipped with. Rebounder, rim protector and play finisher type. Has great timing and anticipation as a shot blocker and is always at the right spot as a help-defender.

James McCall Spears, 6’7 PF – Garland Lakeview Centennial: Burly built forward knows how to utilize his body to score inside. Good footwork, can score on the block and is an adequate passer in the post. He doesn’t play above the rim, but has lost weight, is moving better and has shown noticeable skill improvement. I think more college coaches need to know who this kid is.

Broderick Wyatt, 6’4 SG – Houston Legacy: Lefty, strongly built guard that can play multiple positions because of his strength. His decision making was what stood out. He made quick and simple reads. Either that was in transition, advancing it to the guy running the lanes or just getting the ball out of his hand quickly to make the defense shift. He is a physical driver and showed more of his guard skills in this setting.

Isaiah Santos, 6’5 SF – Seven Lakes: A bully-type of player. Physical, always in attack mode and plays taller than his listed height. He plays through contact, rebounds very well for a wing and is an effective finisher and driver with either hand. Jumpshooting is the swinging skill for him, but what he does well, he does REALLY WELL.

Malik Parish, 6’8 PF – New Wave Academy: Active and mobile forward got a lot done on both ends. Altered shots at the rim, ran the floors hard and can be given the ball in open space to drive and score. Good offensive rebounder, intriguing perimeter game that we will monitor how it develops through his high school career. Plays with an edge and was the best communicator I saw at the camp.

Miles Jackson, 6’3 G – Kingdom Collegiate: Attacking guard with good vertical pop. Good in transition and did a solid job with his catch n’ drive game. I liked his aggression and ability to finish at the rim.

Xander Pruzinsky, 6’8 C – Frisco Memorial: Plays to his strengths. Good long roller, inside play finisher and rim protector. Gets off the ground fairly quick and plays with a high motor.

Kyle Amadi, 6’4 SF/SG – Faith Family: A bucket getter that’s very talented. Quality self creation skills and is fearless and confident when taking shots. Shot selection can improve and getting off the ball sooner will be vital for him going forward. The talent and scoring abilities is undeniable though.

Brayden Williams, 6’4 SF/SG – Faith Family: Good off-ball player. Best at scoring in spot-up situations and has improved in attacking closeouts. Knows how to play, stretches the floor and is a stable defender.

Drew Guy, 6’5 CG – Episcopal School of Dallas: Guard with good positional size and feel. Can turn the corner and get to the rim. Skilled, do wish he played with more aggression, but he was one of the most intriguing prospects at the camp.

Damon Miles, 6’2 PG – Clear Lake: Attacking guard that has quality scoring chops. Showed multiple ways of creating space and getting shot off. Was productive in his games at the camp.

Romejo Waits, 6’5 SF – Byron Nelson: What I like about Waits is he’s impactful in any role you plug him in. If you need him to get a higher volume of shots up, he’ll do that and be efficient. If it’s more of a utility role, he’s productive. Romejo is a two way-impact guy with emerging skill.

Steve McLeod, 6’8 PF/C – Grand Prairie: Has noticeably improved his back to basket game. Dependable option in the low post and can score it with either hand. Ran floors well, played hard and was active.

Lance Williams, 6’10 PF – Texas Storm: Intriguing big man with perimeter skills. Has good feel for the game and is an adequate passer. More of your modern day forward that just needs to get his motor up.
