2x WNBA champion dubs Jeff Teague’s podcast guest ‘sexist’ over Angel Reese OnlyF**s remark

Two-time WNBA champion Sydney Colson is a fierce competitor on the court. But she can also turn up the intensity when defending her league and the athletes who play in it.

The Las Vegas Aces guard chose to do just that after a clip of influencer Charleston White on the “Club 520” podcast made the rounds yesterday. The clip, which has been viewed nearly a million times, shows White discussing WNBA star Angel Reese with podcast hosts Jeff Teague, DJ Wells, and Brandon Hendricks.

“I think she needs to do an OnlyF**s, like Shaq said,” White commented at one point, drawing laughter from all three hosts. “She needs to dunk in her p****es…I’m with you, Shaq!”

White is referring to comments made by Inside the NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal, who came on Angel Reese’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast in October and suggested that the Chicago Sky forward do a basketball dunk while clad in short shorts. Shaq also recommended Reese to put that particular image on a T-shirt and sell it.

In response to this clip, Colson spoke up on behalf of Reese and the league on Saturday:

“Having an ignorant a** sexist on and then actually dropping the episode and then wanting to collab with the W is craaazy work lmao,” said Colson in a Tweet.

From the looks of it, Colson went not just for White but also for Teague and his co-hosts, implying that they were out of line for wanting to do some joint project with the WNBA while still releasing this content online.

Though Colson’s X description reads “this account is very unserious,” she showed no hints of speaking in jest when discussing this matter.

WNBA star Angel Reese once had a playful interaction with Sydney Colson

Colson, who won back-to-back WNBA titles with the Aces in 2022 and 2023, actually had a hilarious exchange with Angel Reese on X back in November.

At that time, the Chicago Sky had signed Tyler Marsh as their new head coach after firing Teresa Weatherspoon. Prior to this signing, Marsh had worked with Colson and the rest of the Aces organization as both assistant coach and head of player development.

Angel Reese celebrated Marsh’s arrival in Chicago, a reaction that Colson jokingly took exception to.

“Excuse me?! We’re grieving, have some respect!” said Colson in response to Reese’s one-word Tweet “W.”

Reese, not one to back down, returned fire.

“Sorry but your time is UP,” insisted Reese. “It’s our turn! I’ll send you some tissue tho sister girl unless you want to come join this side too.”

So far, Colson hasn’t taken the bait, remaining with Las Vegas for the time being. It’s clear, though, that she’ll come to the defense of her fellow WNBA competitors whether they’re on the same team or not.
