Captain Bruno Fernandes led Manchester United in a hard-fought 2-2 draw against bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
Fernandes, who missed the previous game due to suspension, returned to the starting lineup as the left-sided 10, before dropping back into a deeper role when Kobbie Mainoo was substituted for Alejandro Garnacho.
Impressing on both ends of the pitch, Fernandes assisted Lisandro Martinez for the opening goal and was also solid defensively.
He had 88 touches on the ball, the most in his team, and completed 41 out of 58 passes with a 71% pass completion rate.
Despite losing the ball 27 times, Fernandes made four key passes, twice as much as any other player on the pitch.
Defensively, he contributed with three tackles, two clearances, and won both aerial duels he contested.
With a success rate of 82% in ground duels and completing all three attempted dribbles, Fernandes was a constant threat to Liverpool’s defense.
His high-risk style of play paid off as he drove his team to their first Premier League point since mid-December.
