For a long time, there was a quiet, frustrating gap in the basketball world. After the legendary runs of Sheryl Swoopes and Lisa Leslie in the ’90s, the “signature shoe” essentially vanished from WNBA. For over a decade, WNBA MVPs were forced to play in men’s models, shoes designed for different frames and different stories. But as we close out 2025, that drought hasn’t just ended, it has been replaced by a full-blown flood. Sneaker culture has finally realized that women aren’t just a niche market, they are the trendsetters. Today, when you walk into a Foot Locker, the most sought-after tech on the wall often belongs to the women listed below.

Breanna Stewart: Puma – Stewie 4

Stewart was the one who broke the silence. By late 2025, she is already on her fourth signature model, the Stewie 4. While her previous shoes celebrated her championships, this latest version is deeply personal, featuring a “Night Vision” colorway and tech like nitrogen-infused foam. She proved to the industry that a woman could lead a major brand’s entire basketball category and win.

Sabrina Ionescu: Nike – Sabrina 3

If anyone turned the WNBA sneaker into a mainstream must-have, it was Sabrina. Her Sabrina 3, launched in July 2025, continues the unisex legacy of her first two models. It’s a low-profile, lightning-fast shoe that you’ll see on as many NBA guards as you do high school players. Her “Statue of Liberty” colorway is currently one of the most traded pairs on the secondary market.

A’ja Wilson: Nike – A’One

Fans waited years for this, and the Nike A’One finally arrived in May 2025. It’s a masterclass in storytelling; the “Pink Aura” launch colorway features a pearl motif, a direct nod to the grandmother who gave A’ja her first pearl necklace. It’s designed for her specific positionless style, offering the support of a big-man shoe with the agility of a guard.

Angel Reese: Reebok – Angel Reese 1

Angel didn’t just get a shoe; she revived an entire brand. The Angel Reese 1, released in September 2025, is as bold as her personality. The design features TPU overlays that form angel wings on the sides, merging high-fashion aesthetics with the grit needed to lead the league in rebounding. It’s a shoe that says you don’t have to sacrifice style to be a double-double machine.

Caitlin Clark: Nike – CC1

Though her official retail release is slated for early 2026, Clark spent the 2025 season as the face of the most anticipated sneaker launch in history. Her signature logo and “From Anywhere” apparel collection dominated the holidays, and her player-exclusive colorways of the Kobe line have been the blueprint for her upcoming CC1. She is the first player to have a signature empire built before her first official shoe even hits the box. Also read: 6 Richest WNBA stars
