Last weekend, WNBA star Angel Reese faced controversial comments from online personality Charleston White during a guest appearance on Jeff Teague’s “Club 520 Podcast.” White made several controversial remarks about Reese, sparking online outrage.
Teague and the show’s hosts later apologized for White’s comments and did not share the full episode with White. Jalen Rose’s daughter, Mariah, criticized the show in a recent video.
Mariah, daughter of former NBA player Jalen Rose, who is reportedly worth $50 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, often discusses WNBA-related topics. She called out Teague and the “Club 520 Podcast” for the incident.
“The video started with them saying, Angel Reese doesn’t want to be a basketball player. She should go sell her body and be on OnlyFans. Angel Reese is 22 years old. We know her from her college career… Why would any Black man think it’s okay to speak or joke about Angel Reese like that? Why is that considered funny?”
What were Charleston White’s comments about Angel Reese on the “Club 520 Podcast”?
Charleston White’s appearance on the “Club 520” podcast was not the first time he had targeted Reese with controversial comments. Last year, he criticized her after she expressed her disappointment over the U.S. presidential election results.
During the recent podcast appearance, White made inappropriate comments about the sexuality of WNBA players, including Caitlin Clark and Reese. He also supported Shaquille O’Neal’s controversial remarks about Reese on her show, “Unapologetically Angel.”
“I’m with Shaq,” White said on the podcast. “Dunk in some panties with no bra on. That’s how you sell tickets. We need an OnlyFans WNBA–then I’ll tune in.”
These comments left fans questioning O’Neal, especially since he has been seen as a fatherly figure to Reese, who played college basketball at LSU.
