BRUSSELS (BEL, Sep 14): The second and final day of the Allianz Memorial van Damme concluded the long and very successful 2024 Wanda Diamond League season. In the cold and wet weather (crowds 37,000 on the first day, 34,000 on the second day), athletes set three meeting records. Faith Kipyegon secured her fifth DL trophy, Beatrice Chebet set a record in the 5000m with 14:09.82, and Leonardo Fabbri achieved a record in the shot put with 22.98. The crowd witnessed five new DL champions being crowned.

Women:
200m: Brown won her premier DL title in 22.20 (0.2), beating Neita (22.45).
1500m: Kipyegon claimed her fifth DL title in a MR of 3:54.75, with Welteji coming in second at 3:55.25. Vanderelst set a national record for Belgium with 4:01.26 in 11th place.
5000m: Chebet won in 14:09.82, narrowly missing the WL. Eisa set a World U20 record with 14:21.89, followed by Tesfay in third place with 14:28.53.
100m hurdles: Camacho-Quinn took the victory in 12.38 (0.4) ahead of Visser (12.54).
Men:
200m: Bednarek impressed with a time of 19.67 (0.7) in a cold weather rematch against Tebogo (19.80).
Shot put: Fabbri set a MR of 22.98, winning his first DL title.
