Banner #1 – IU wins charity exhibition at Tennessee
The Hoosiers’ 2024-2025 season finally arrived to much hype last Sunday with a more significant challenge than usual. While it didn’t count for anything, IU faced Tennessee in a road charity exhibition contest and looked ready for the moment. In a back-and-forth affair, Indiana came out on top 66-62 as transfer Myles Rice led the team to victory in the final minute.
Afterward, IU coach Mike Woodson spoke, Ryan Corazza had a Minute After and Film Session, and Alex Bozich provided Five Takeaways.
Banner #2 – Indiana dominates Marian in exhibition
While the challenge level lessened significantly on Friday, the Hoosiers made their final exhibition game in Assembly Hall look easy. Taking on coach Pat Knight’s Marian squad, Indiana raced to a 106-64 victory over the NAIA school based out of Indianapolis.
Afterward, Woodson spoke, Inside the Hall had a photo gallery, Corazza penned a Minute After, Bozich provided Five Takeaways, and Matt Press wrote a story about Oumar Ballo and Malik Reneau.
Banner #3 – Women crush Division II Maryville in lone exhibition
The women’s squad also opened their exhibition season in dominant fashion. With all-time great player Mackenzie Holmes out of eligibility, the Hoosiers will need to replace her elite production despite returning many other contributors.
Her backup, Lily Meister, will get the first crack at filling her shoes. While the competition level was not high, Meister showed she could be up to the task, contributing 19 points in a 95-27 win over Maryville. Cheryl Miller Watchlist honoree Yarden Garzon one-upped her with a team-high 20 points as the squad hit ten 3-pointers.
Banner #4 – Hoosiers to play Kansas in Las Vegas in 2027
Turning to the future, IU will take part in a marquee early season game. This contest will take place in the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium.
It is part of the Hall of Fame Series and the opponent will be a familiar one in Kansas. The game will be on Nov. 12, 2027.
Banner #5 – Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows
Podcast on the Brink was recorded this week. It featured a crossover with CrimsonCast’s Galen Clavio.
The Back Home Network was on-air multiple times this week. Bison Chat, multiple CrimsonCast episodes, Doing The Work, Dribble Drive, and Assembly Call Postgame all had episodes in the last few days.
