Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

With a full program reset underway, new IU coach Darian DeVries continues to remake his personnel for next season. The last few days have been quite fruitful in accomplishing that. Also, while the women’s squad has some continuity, they are having to make over their roster as well and they added another player this week.

Besides this, we will provide some information on where the outgoing Hoosiers are headed and updates on former ones in the NBA. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other Indiana sports, led by football having its spring game.

Here is what is in this week’s edition:

• Hoosiers add three players from the transfer portal• IU women add Virginia forward Edessa Noyan• Two former Hoosiers find new schools• Hoosiers in the NBA• Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows• Hoosier Roundup

With a full personnel reset underway, IU coach Darian DeVries continues to add and chase prospects to fill out the roster. Going into this week, it was known DeVries’ son Tucker will follow his dad to campus and that incoming freshman Trent Sisley is sticking with the Hoosiers. Also, Luke Goode is petitioning for a medical redshirt and DePaul transfer Conor Enright and Davidson transfer Reed Bailey were already in the fold.

The biggest name trying to be lured all offseason though has been Sam Houston’s Lamar Wilkerson. Going head-to-head with rival Kentucky for his services, the team from Bloomington won out for the biggest get to this point. They also added Troy’s Tayton Conerway and North Florida’s Jasai Miles after a recent visit.

What players come on board to complete the roster remains to be seen. However, the ones so far make up the fourth-best portal class in the country according to 247Sports.

Banner #2 – IU women add Virginia forward Edessa Noyan

The women have had to make over their roster as well between graduations and transfers leaving after several years of stability. Prior to this week, they were able to get portal commitments from Arkansas’ Phoenix Stotijn, UCLA’s Zania Socka-Nguemen and Alabama’s Chloe Spreen.

The last few days saw a fourth player from another school join the fold. This came in the form of Virginia’s Edessa Noyan who was a starter for the Cavilers. She was not a consistent scorer during her time there but did have a few big games.

Banner #3 – Two former Hoosiers find new schools

Amongst outgoing Hoosiers, more found new homes. This included Mackenzie Mgbako and Bryson Tucker announcing their new schools.

Mgbako will head south to the SEC and join new coach Bucky McMillan at Texas A&M. Meanwhile, Tucker will stay in the Big Ten but go west as part of the Washington Huskies.

On the women’s side, a couple of players confirmed they are going down a level as Julianna LaMendola will make her way to Grand Canyon and Lexus Bargesser to Colorado State. Also, Lily Meister will stay at the power-five level by going to Kansas.

Banner #4 – Hoosiers in the NBA

There continue to be several former Hoosiers competing in the NBA. Four of them had their seasons continue, as the teams they are on are a part of the playoffs.

New York’s OG Anunoby, Indiana’s Thomas Bryant locally, Golden State’s Trayce Jackson-Davis and Miami’s Kel’el Ware are all in the postseason. Anunoby and Bryant had their first games at home yesterday with their squads emerging victorious, while Jackson-Davis and Ware take to the road tonight.

Banner #5 – Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows

Podcast on the Brink returned this week. On it, Inside the Hall’s Ryan Corazza discussed the current state of the IU roster.

The Back Home Network was also on-air multiple times in the last few days. Assembly Call, Crimson Cast, Dribble Drive, and Xs and Joes, all had shows this week.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Football had its spring game on Thursday night.

• Softball lost their series finale to Wisconsin before splitting with Nebraska.

• Baseball continued its inconsistent season losing their series finale to Illinois and falling to Indiana State before splitting their first two with Maryland.

• Water polo beat rival Michigan.

• Women’s tennis lost to Wisconsin and Illinois.

• Men’s tennis fell to Washington and Ohio State.

• Women’s golf competed at the Buckeye Invitational.

• Rowing competed in Florida.

• Track and field competed at multiple events.

Thanks for your continued support of The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall. We’ll be back next weekend with a new roundup.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-banner Sunday.
