Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

IU Athletics continued its success across many sports this fall. Men’s and women’s basketball and football are all unbeaten as of Sunday morning.

Here is what is in this week’s edition:

• IU beats Kansas State for its second high-major win this season• Hoosiers coast to an easy win against Bethune-Cookman• Football completes perfect regular season with win at Purdue• Women’s basketball tops Florida Gulf Coast and Gonzaga• Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows• Hoosier Roundup

Banner #1 – IU beats Kansas State for its second high-major win this season

Under new IU head coach Darian DeVries, Hoosier fans were promised a modern offense that emphasizes the 3-point shot. So far, so good as Indiana continued its hot shooting and ball movement to pick up its second win against a high-major opponent this season, dominating Kansas State to improve to 7-0.

No. 25 IU used the long-range shot early (10 makes overall) and stifling defense throughout to roll to an 86-69 victory. IU’s top player Tucker DeVries struggled somewhat, but Reed Bailey and Tayton Conerway had their best games of the season to date with 21 and 19 points, respectively.

Afterwards, coach DeVries spoke, Inside the Hall had a Photo Gallery, Ryan Corazza wrote The Minute After and Film Session, Alex Bozich penned Five Takeaways and Quinn Richards put together a column about Conor Enright, who had a huge night.

Banner #2 – Hoosiers coast to an easy win against Bethune-Cookman

The perimeter shooting showed no signs of slowing down on Saturday. This time, it was Bethune-Cookman who got the Hoosiers’ wrath as they rolled to an easy win.

Indiana was once again hot from the perimeter, making 12 shots from distance to roll to a 100-56 victory. DeVries was back to his usual form, leading IU with 20 points, including five shots from downtown.

Afterwards, Coach DeVries spoke, Corazza wrote The Minute After and Film Session, Bozich penned Five Takeaways and Josh Pos put together a column about Conerway, who had another huge day.

The Hoosiers have a tough stretch beginning this week. They open Big Ten play against Minnesota on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on BTN in Minneapolis. After that, their most significant challenge to date is next Saturday against top-10 Louisville in Indianapolis at 2 p.m. ET on CBS.

Banner #3 – Football completes perfect regular season with win at Purdue

A struggling Purdue program was the only thing that stood in the way of the No. 2 football Hoosiers and their first perfect 12-0 season. Mission accomplished.

In frigid, cold West Lafayette, IU’s play on the field remained scalding hot. Using their elite rushing attack, Indiana rolled its arch-rivals 56-3.

As a result, Indiana and head coach Curt Cignetti clinched the program’s first-ever spot in the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis next Saturday. The matchup against Ohio State will be at Lucas Oil Stadium with a kickoff time of 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Banner #4 – Women’s basketball tops Florida Gulf Coast and Gonzaga

Women’s basketball also had a lot of roster turnover this offseason. However, they did return Lenee Beaumont and Shay Ciezki.

Ciezki has been excellent in the early going. Her scoring and long-range shooting are the main reasons the squad has been perfect to open 2025-2026.

Indiana left Bloomington this week for warmer weather in Florida to compete. However, being away from Assembly Hall did not impede IU’s ability to win as they topped Florida Gulf Coast 82-64 on Tuesday, before edging Gonzaga on Friday 76-72 to improve to 7-0.

IU has its biggest test of the season to date at 1:30 p.m. ET today. This comes in the form of top-15 Iowa State, which possesses the first truly elite player the Hoosiers have seen this fall in Audi Crooks.

Banner #5 – Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows

Inside the Hall’s Podcast on the Brink returned this week. On it, Pos joined Bozich for a discussion of IU basketball’s victory against Kansas State.

The Back Home Network has several new shows. As a result, it was on air many times this week as well with programming.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Volleyball beat Illinois but fell to Purdue to close its regular season. However, today at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN, they will hear their name called for their first NCAA tournament berth in 15 years. The Hoosiers rank in the top 20 and have a record of 23-7 overall and 14-6 in the Big Ten. Also, two of their top players were drafted into the pros.

• Men’s soccer fell to St. Louis 1-0 in its first NCAA tournament match, ending its season.

• Wrestling was beaten by Oklahoma.

• Softball coach Shonda Stanton will also coach the AUSL Bandits.

• Swimming and diving had several of its athletes honored by the Big Ten.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-Banner Sunday.
