Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

Football went into Oregon and got arguably its most significant win in program history. In basketball, tip times and TV designations were announced for the 2025-26 season.

This week’s 6-Banner Sunday also includes recruiting updates and Inside the Hall began a series previewing each Hoosier player in detail. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other IU sports, which was highlighted by volleyball continuing to roll as a ranked squad.

Here is what is in this week’s edition:

• Football earns signature win at Oregon• Tip times and TV designations announced for basketball• Recruiting updates• Inside the Hall 2025-26 player profiles• Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows• Hoosier Roundup

Banner #1 – Football earns signature win at Oregon

After moving up to No. 7 in the AP Poll during their bye week, IU football played arguably its biggest game in program history on Saturday afternoon. Going to national power and No. 3 Oregon, the Hoosiers had a chance to legitimize their rise as a program over the last couple of years.

Mission accomplished. Indiana went into Eugene and controlled the contest against the Ducks. In the end, quarterback Fernando Mendoza shook off a fourth-quarter interception to throw the go-ahead touchdown to Elijah Sarratt late. Then the defense, which dominated all day in the trenches, sealed it with two late interceptions.

The final score was 30-20 as the Hoosiers improved to 6-0 and handed Oregon its first conference loss since joining the Big Ten. This result gives Indiana the inside track to the league championship game and solidifies them as a national title contender.

With the toughest matchups behind them, IU returns to Memorial Stadium for a homecoming matchup against Michigan State. The kickoff will take place at 3:30 p.m. ET, with coverage streamed on Peacock.

After Big Ten Media Day, the final major piece of the puzzle was announced. Both hoops squads released their finalized schedule with start times and television info.

Given the roster turnover, there is a lot of unknown about how good Indiana might be under new head coach Darian DeVries. As a result, the unofficial media poll has Indiana projected mid-pack.

Banner #3 – Recruiting updates

The new coaching staff is hard at work trying to lock down top prospects for future seasons. Several visits from top high schoolers are planned, including priority target Vaughn Carvala.

Also, with the Hoosiers looking to lock down their 2026 class, a couple of the players the Hoosiers are recruiting hardest will announce very soon whether IU is their choice.

Banner #4 – Inside the Hall 2025-26 player profiles

Inside the Hall started a series previewing all of IU’s players in detail. This week, Andrej Acimovic, Trent Sisley, Aleksa Ristic, Josh Harris and Jasai Miles were examined.

Banner #5 – Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows

Inside the Hall’s Podcast On The Brink returned this week. On it, ITH’s Josh Pos was joined by Alex Bozich to discuss media day and the IU-Oregon game.

Also, the Back Home Network was on air many times this week as new shows have been added recently.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Volleyball showed their newly found top-25 ranking was deserved as they knocked off UCLA and Michigan to remain undefeated in Big Ten play.

• Men’s soccer beat Ohio State and has a national player of the year contender.

• Women’s soccer knocked off Northwestern.

• Field hockey fell to Rutgers, but had a player honored by the conference as well as a Scholar Athlete of the Month.

• Men’s golf competed at the Fighting Irish Classic.

• Women’s golf took part in the Illinois Invitational.

• Swimming and diving competed at the LA Dual Meets.

• Women’s tennis hosted the exhibition Hoosier Classic and had a player honored by the league.

• Men’s tennis competed at an exhibition event in Tennessee.

• Softball added a recruit.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-Banner Sunday.
