Organizers of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion announced that the marque for the 2025 gathering will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula One. The announcement was made at the prize-giving ceremonies to close this year’s historic race gathering at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The event in 2025 promises to be an immersive experience showcasing Formula One’s legacy and global popularity. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is scheduled for August 13-16, 2025.
Attendees can expect to see two dedicated historic F1 race groups featuring cars from pre-1966, in addition to the existing grid of 1966-1985 cars that competed in this year’s Mario Andretti Trophy race. The introduction of the pre-1966 class is a first for Monterey, with many international drivers expected to participate.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown is excited about the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Formula One. He expressed his enthusiasm for the event and McLaren’s successful history in the series. Brown looks forward to attending the reunion with United Autosports and celebrating Formula One’s past and present.
Vice President of Friends of Laguna Seca, Bruce Canepa, also shares his excitement for the event. He highlights the importance of celebrating F1’s heritage and its future on the series’ 75th anniversary. Despite F1 never racing at Laguna Seca, the historic F1 cars at the Rolex Reunion help keep the passion alive for motorsport enthusiasts of all generations.
