Despite A’ja Wilson’s Heroics, Draymond Green Is Unhappy With Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark’s Team USA Treatment

Fans were thrilled as Team USA dominated the Opals by an 85-64 margin on Friday to advance to the Finals. Despite A’ja Wilson’s standout performance with 10 points and 8 rebounds, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors expressed his displeasure with Team USA’s treatment of WNBA rookies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Green voiced his dissatisfaction with Clark and Reese’s exclusion on the Draymond Green Show, stating, “I think Caitlin Clark should have been on this team. It’s great for the brand, and let’s not act like it doesn’t matter now…The W is there (referring to the initial stages) and so she is the global star in women’s basketball.” Green also supported Reese’s inclusion.

Clark’s rise has led to an 889% increase in projected revenue for the Indiana Fever, with most of her home games selling out. The WNBA All-Star game saw a significant increase in viewership thanks to Clark’s presence, sparking debates about women’s basketball. Green emphasized the importance of Clark and Reese’s contributions to women’s basketball.

Both Reese and Clark have demonstrated their skills, setting records and making significant impacts in the games they play. Despite their achievements, Clark was not selected for Team USA, drawing support from entrepreneur Dave Portnoy.

During his podcast, Dave Portnoy criticized Clark’s exclusion and its impact on women’s basketball ratings. He highlighted the need for inclusion and recognition of young talents like Clark and Reese.

Critics argue that Clark and other rookies were overlooked for the Olympics due to their absence from the practice camp in April. Despite this setback, there is hope for their future inclusion in Team USA.

As Team USA competes for the gold, fans hope to see Clark and Reese acknowledged for their contributions. Stay tuned for more updates and the upcoming episode of the “Dual Threat Show” featuring Georgia Bulldogs star Asia Avinger.
