Chicago Sky’s Chennedy Carter unloads her frustration over being ranked at the bottom of ESPN’s list

Chicago Sky’s guard Chennedy Carter responded to her position on a recent ESPN list. Despite having a strong season with the Sky and being in contention for the Most Improved Player of the Year award before the All-Star break, Carter expressed her frustration with being ranked 24th out of 25 players to watch in the WNBA’s second half. She took to Instagram to voice her discontent, accusing the network of bias.

“How can my stats lead the league while averaging less minutes? The rankings don’t add up. The bias is clear, including my field goal percentage,” Carter wrote.

Carter has been a standout player for the Chicago Sky this season, transitioning from a training camp signing in February to a key contributor off the bench and eventually a starter. Her performance has been crucial in keeping the team competitive and playoff hopeful.

With averages of 17.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, Carter has been efficient shooting 51.8% from the field and 75.3% from the free-throw line.

Chennedy Carter opens up about potential participation in the new ‘Unrivaled’ league

Prior to addressing her ESPN ranking, Chennedy Carter shared with fans her exclusion from the upcoming 3×3 ‘Unrivaled’ league. She clarified that she was not invited or selected for the league.

“Just for clarification because I continuously keep getting asked, I was not invited to ‘Unrivaled.’ I didn’t get picked,” she tweeted.

Carter’s performances this season have garnered attention for her improved game and behavior on and off the court. Despite some controversial moments, such as pushing Caitlin Clark during a game, Carter has shown emotional gratitude for the experience playing in Chicago and the support she has received after being snubbed from Unrivaled.

“Chicago, you just (ughh) don’t make me cry, being such an amazing experience,” she tweeted.

As the 2024 WNBA playoffs approach, Carter and the Sky are gearing up to face Phoenix in their next game.
