According to sources within the league, Lacob was a significant advocate for trading for Oubre, even despite the fact that it would significantly increase Golden State’s luxury tax bill. The Warriors ended up paying over $80 million in total for Oubre’s one season with the team. While the Warriors typically make decisions collectively, this was not the case with Oubre, as there were pockets of dissent throughout the organization, from Lacob to then-GM Bob Myers and the coaching staff.
