Stenhousemuir scored two first-half goals to hand Inverness Caledonian Thistle their first defeat of the season in the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship. This result propelled East Fife to the top of the third tier of women’s football in Scotland.
Captain Jude Connolly netted the first goal for Stenhousemuir, tapping in a cross from Eva Ralston. Striker Praise Adebo then doubled the lead after Caley Thistle goalkeeper Jen Horrocks made a good save to deny Elisha Duff. Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Rosie Alexander made several important saves in the second half to maintain the lead.
Meanwhile, East Fife secured a 3-0 victory over Forfar Farmington with goals from Anderson, Skivington, and Guppy. Glasgow Women suffered their first defeat of the season against Dryburgh Athletic, who won 3-2 with goals from Laing, Brady, and Irvine.
In other matches, Renfrew Ladies defeated Morton 4-0, Stirling University won by the same scoreline against Hutchison Vale, and Falkirk dominated with a 9-0 victory over Westdyke.
St Mirren claimed a 4-1 win against Edinburgh Caledonia in the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, despite Rachel Ashe receiving a red card in the first half. Inverurie Locos dropped points for the first time this season, as Kilwinning staged a remarkable comeback to earn a draw. Molly Bradley completed a hat-trick, with Caitlin Martin also scoring for Kilwinning.
Other results included Airdrie Ladies beating Dunipace 4-2, Queen of the South defeating Giffnock 4-1, and Armadale Thistle’s Kyha McGurk scoring nine goals in a 12-0 victory over Dundee West.
