Tennis legend Serena Williams shared an unexpected update from a hospital bed on TikTok, revealing that she recently underwent surgery to remove a branchial cyst from her neck. In the video, Serena appeared calm and positive as she discussed her experience, showing the incision and drainage from her neck where the cyst had been removed.
In her caption, Serena explained that she first noticed the lump on her neck in May. After seeking medical attention and undergoing tests, she was diagnosed with a branchial cyst. Initially, her doctors advised against removing it unless it became problematic.
However, as the cyst grew to the size of a small grapefruit, Serena underwent further tests and a biopsy, all of which came back negative. Despite this, due to the cyst’s rapid growth and potential complications, her doctors recommended surgical removal.

Back in May I found a lump on my neck. After several tests, doctors advised me to have a brachial cyst removed. I’m feeling grateful and fortunate that everything went well and most importantly, I’m healthy. I fulfilled my promise to my daughter, Olympia, by taking her to American Doll. Everything is okay. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 #fyp #foryourpage #serenawilliams #mom
