ABU DHABI – Lerone Murphy felt unstoppable after his recent victory over Edson Barboza in a five-round unanimous decision.
Heading into UFC 308 fight week, Murphy is still riding high and is ready to take on Dan Ige in the main card bout on Saturday at Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
Reflecting on his last fight, Murphy shared, “It was a huge boost for my confidence and overall experience. I feel like it has prepared me for any challenges ahead, especially in the later rounds.”
With an undefeated record of 14-0-1 in the UFC, Murphy acknowledges the tough opponent in Ige (18-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) and sees this fight as a stepping stone to facing top 10-ranked competition in the future.
“Dan Ige is a formidable opponent who has consistently been in the top 15 for several years. Beating him will open up doors to facing top 10 fighters, and I am confident in my abilities to step up to that challenge,” Murphy said.
