Ausar Thompson’s debut season with the Detroit Pistons was unfortunately cut short by a blood clot problem. He has been preparing for a comeback, but both he and the Pistons are still waiting for approval from the NBA and the Fitness to Play panel. Thompson was unable to play in Detroit’s first game of the season against the Indiana Pacers.
During his rookie year, the 6-foot-7 wing played in 63 games and had averages of 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals, and almost a block per game in 25.1 minutes. Thompson’s season came to an early end in March due to the blood clot issue.
