Kate Martin stops by Quad Cities school

WNBA’s Kate Martin transitioned from the basketball court to the school hallways on Wednesday.

She served as the honorary principal at Andalusia Elementary School, as reported in a Facebook post from the district. During her visit, she also took the time to engage with the students.

Martin’s parents are residents of the Quad Cities, having relocated back to the area from Edwardsville. Her mother, Jill, is employed at Andalusia Elementary.

Jill shared with News 8 in April, “During my interview here, they were unaware that Kate is my daughter. When they asked for a fun fact, I mentioned that Kate Martin is my daughter. I was taken aback by the enthusiastic reaction I received, as I had not anticipated the level of excitement surrounding her being my daughter.”
