If Dodgers fans have learned one thing about Teoscar Hernández this season, it’s his authenticity is undeniable.
The left fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the fans for their support during the incredible 2024 season.
“What a year,” he wrote. “I want to thank all the fans for their amazing support this season. Your energy and passion are felt throughout the stadium.”
Hernández has expressed his desire to stay with the Dodgers long-term. While no contract talks occurred during the season, the team offered him a one-year, $21.05 million qualifying offer and is looking to bring him back.
He has reiterated his commitment to rejoining the Dodgers, stating it remains a top priority for him.
“I will do everything I can to come back,” Hernández said after the World Series parade.
The Dodgers are considering moving Mookie Betts back to the infield in 2025, creating a need in the outfield. General manager Brandon Gomes mentioned that Hernández is a top candidate to fill the right field spot left by Betts.
“We will start discussions with Teo and his team soon,” Gomes said.
Hernández is ranked as the No. 11 free agent on The Athletic’s top 40 MLB free agents list. Last offseason, he sought a multiyear deal but ended up signing a one-year contract with the Dodgers, which proved to be successful.
At 32, Hernández had a remarkable season, achieving a career-high in home runs and earning his second All-Star nod. He played a crucial role in the Dodgers’ journey to the World Series.
