The NBA is considering changing the format of the All-Star Game once again, and the “NBA vs. WNBA” three-point shootout that premiered in 2024 is set to make a return in February, but with a twist.
Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty are planning to bring back their three-point shootout to the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco in February. They are also hoping to include Klay Thompson of the Dallas Mavericks and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever in the competition.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, there are ongoing discussions about bringing back the shootout, with plans to possibly include Thompson and Clark in the competition this year.
Thompson and Clark would be valuable additions to the contest, with Thompson now playing for the Mavericks and Clark making a significant impact in her rookie season in the WNBA.
Curry emerged victorious in the inaugural event at the 2024 All-Star Weekend, narrowly defeating Ionescu with a score of 29 points in the three-point contest.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend is scheduled to take place from Feb. 14 to 16 at Chase Center in San Francisco.
