The Washington Mystics announced that forward Aaliyah Edwards will be representing the team at the 2025 WNBA Draft Lottery on Friday.
Drafted No. 6 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft from the University of Connecticut, Edwards averaged 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 34 appearances. She also played for Canada in the 2024 Olympics in traditional 5X5 basketball.
With Edwards coming from UConn and the projected No. 1 pick being Huskies guard Paige Bueckers, Mystics fans are hopeful for good luck in the draft. The team has two first round picks in 2025, with the other pick originally belonging to the Atlanta Dream and set to be No. 6 overall.
