The all-female racing series F1 Academy is set to make a comeback at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix. Taking place from May 2-4, this event will be the third round of the 2025 championship for F1 Academy, marking its first North American race of the season.
“As a promoter, we are dedicated to promoting the growth of motorsport, and the return of F1 Academy to the Miami International Autodrome demonstrates that commitment,” stated Tyler Epp, President of the Miami Grand Prix. “Under the leadership of Susie Wolff (F1 Academy managing director) and her team, F1 Academy has made great strides in providing opportunities for young women in the sport. This enhances the overall fan experience, and we are excited to showcase this alongside our Sprint format and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, promising an action-packed weekend in May.”
Established in 2023, F1 Academy aims to break down barriers for young women in motorsport by offering opportunities to female drivers aged 16 to 25. The drivers receive comprehensive support in all aspects of competition, including technical training and mental preparation. The series features Tatuus-built cars powered by a four-cylinder, 1.4-liter turbocharged engine capable of reaching speeds up to 150mph.
Abbi Pulling, a driver from Alpine Academy, dominated both races in Miami this year and is currently leading the 2024 championship with a comfortable 95-point lead over closest competitor Doriane Pin with two weekends left in the season.
