It is widely known that UFC frontman Dana White does not have a good relationship with the media members who make up the UFC rankings panel. White is so dissatisfied with the real-life media members voting that he wants to replace them with artificial intelligence (AI) as the CEO of the company.
White has been in discussions with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg about implementing AI into the rankings process.
After each UFC event, the media members are tasked with voting for the top fighters in the UFC by weight class and pound-for-pound. To be considered for a vote, a fighter must be active in the UFC.
White firmly believes that Jones is the best fighter in the world and deserves the pound-for-pound status. Despite Jones’ victory over former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, the current UFC heavyweight champion has not earned that recognition from the panel members.
According to the current rankings, Jones has moved up to No. 2, just behind Islam Makhachev, the UFC lightweight champion, surpassing light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira – much to White’s disappointment.
“I need to replace these individuals,” White stated on Instagram. “Zuck, let’s finalize this AI deal quickly!”
