Lightweights Grant Dawson and Diego Ferreira are set to face off at the upcoming UFC 311 event on Jan. 18 at the new Intuit Dome near Los Angeles.
Sources close to the promotion confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting, with David Van Auken first reporting the news on Twitter.
Dawson, with a 5-1 record in his last six fights, is making his way up the lightweight division and is eager for tougher competition in January after defeating Rafa Garcia in his last outing.
His opponent, Ferreira, is on a two-fight win streak with victories over Michael Johnson and Mateusz Rebecki, bouncing back from a three-fight losing streak. Ferreira made his UFC debut in 2014.
The Dawson vs. Ferreira matchup is the latest addition to the UFC 311 card, which currently lacks a main event. There are speculations that lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will face Arman Tsarukyan in the headline bout, but nothing is official yet.
