2024 SEASON OVERVIEW: Signed to a training camp contract in 2024, Carter battled her way onto the season-opening roster and immediately positioned herself as a Sky centerpiece.
She made her Chicago Sky debut on May 15 against Dallas, going on to notch 12 points in the following game on May 18. She had eight straight games from May 18 to June 6 with at least 11 points, including 14 against Los Angeles on May 30.
Through the beginning part of the season, she came off the bench and averaged 12.9 points on 52.0% shooting in her first 13 games.
Her standout play off the bench cemented her as a Sixth Player of the Year candidate. Then, on June 16, Carter was elevated to the starting lineup. She averaged 20.1 points for the rest of the season, starting in 20 games and averaging 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 47.5% from the field and 32.0%
from three. She finished the year with three votes for Most Improved Player.

Carter started her first game in a Sky uniform on June 16 against Indiana, scoring 18. She also scored 23 points on June 23 against Indiana. She had one of the most productive stretches of her career before the All-Star break, averaging 23.1 points, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 50.0% in the month of July. That stretch included a
26-point game (July 2 at Atlanta), a 33-point game (July 5 at Seattle, career-high 15 made field goals) and a 34-point game (July 16 at Las Vegas).
Carter scored 25 points on Aug. 25 in a narrow loss to Las Vegas, included a late three that tied the game.
