Angel Reese is busy playing for Unrivaled during the offseason and hosting her podcast Unapologetically Angel. In a recent interview with Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball, she shared how the Chicago Bulls point guard helped her cover a WNBA fine.
Reese was fined after being ejected from a game in June, where she received two quick technical fouls for expressing her frustration with the officials during Chicago’s 88-75 loss to the New York Liberty.
Lonzo Ball publicly vowed to pay her fine on X (formerly Twitter), and he followed through by giving her $2,000 when the fine was only $200. He also disclosed that it was his first WNBA game and that he was present at the time. The WNBA eventually rescinded the second technical foul, reducing Reese’s payment to $400.
Reese’s remarkable rookie season
Despite facing some challenges, Reese had an impressive rookie season with the Chicago Sky. She led the league in rebounding with averages of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Reese also made history as the first rookie to achieve a triple-double and the fastest to record a double-double.
