WNBA superstar Brittney Griner and her wife Cherelle are excited to share photos of their first child, Bash Griner, who was welcomed into the world in July.
“Family photo shoots have become a team effort for us. It’s a combination of smiles, tears, feedings, and naps,” Cherelle shared with “CBS Mornings.” “We cherish every moment and are eagerly looking forward to taking our first Christmas pictures as a family.”
Earlier this year, Cherelle announced her pregnancy on social media. In May, the couple shared videos from their baby shower exclusively with “CBS Mornings.”
Upon Bash’s arrival a few months ago, Griner expressed, “my entire world changed for the better.”
In 2022, Griner, aged 33, made headlines when she was arrested in Russia after vape cartridges were found in her luggage during a search at a Moscow Airport. She played basketball in Russia during the WNBA off-season, pleaded guilty, and received a nine-year prison sentence. After being detained for 10 months, she was released from Russia in December 2022 through negotiations between Washington and Moscow, participating in a prisoner swap. Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout was released from U.S. custody in exchange for Griner.
