NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 2024 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Women's Soccer All-South Region Teams were announced Tuesday, November 26. The sports communicators in the south region voted on the teams. Lee University had two Lady Flames on the First Team as Grace Berry and Katie Wilson were honored for the first time. <p>Berry, a junior, was on the United Soccer Coaches All South Region Team last season but it is the first time on the D2CCA region team. She was on the First Team All-GSC for the second straight year in a row. She had a fantastic season. She was a preseason All-GSC as well this season. She lead the Lady Flames in goals and points. She was second on the team with shots on goal. She had two game winning goals this season including a big one against Mississippi College. She is also in the top ten in goals in the GSC.</p><p>For Wilson it was the first time she was on a region team. A senior, she was named for the first time to an all-conference team as well. She helped anchor the defense for the Lady Flames this season. In the GSC, Lee has given up the third fewest goals overall and the fewest in conference play. Lee had six shutouts this season. She has played in all but 20 minutes this year.
Mya Swinton of the No. 6 University of West Florida is the 2024 D2 CCA South Region Player of the Year. Swinton, a transfer from Vanderbilt University, is now a two-time D2 CCA All-South Region First Team selection. The 2024 Gulf South Conference Player of the Year has ten goals on the season with eight assists and 28 points – helping the Argos to a 15-3-1 overall record. Three of her goals were game-winners. The Argos won the Gulf South Championship regular season and postseason championships. They went 10-0-2 in league play and are hosting the NCAA Division II South Region Championships. Swinton owns three GSC Player of the Week honors, two this season.
The Gulf South Conference had 16 overall selections with nine on the first team and seven on the second team. The Sunshine State Conference had ten players with four on the first team and six on the second team. The University of West Florida led the way with six selections. Florida Tech had five selections while the University of Montevallo had four. Lee and Embry-Riddle were the only others schools with more than one player.

The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
