Father Time is undefeated and it appears that LeBron James may be his latest target.
LeBron’s performance has dipped, with him averaging 18 PPG on 43% FG and 13% 3P over his last seven games – marking his worst stretch in two decades.
Close friend Draymond Green acknowledges that Father Time is catching up to LeBron, who had previously seemed ageless.
“Is father time catching up to him? Absolutely,” Green admitted on The Draymond Green Show. “Because Father Time catches up to everyone.”
However, Green defended LeBron, noting that he had a busy offseason for a player nearing 40 years old.
“But where I disagree is with people claiming, ‘We’ve finally seen it. He’s finished now. We’ve been waiting for this moment.’ I disagree,” Green added. “It looks to me like he’s just a bit fatigued right now.”
“Let’s not forget that the Lakers made a deep playoff run last season, followed by LeBron competing in the Olympics. He’s had no rest,” Green pointed out.
LeBron played a key role in Team USA’s successful gold medal campaign in Paris this summer.
While Green acknowledges that time is not on LeBron’s side, he believes the four-time champion can overcome his current slump.
“I think ‘Bron has hit a minor rough patch,” Green stated. “The way people are portraying it, like, ‘Father Time has caught him, we’re witnessing his decline now.’ I don’t buy it.”
