A potential plot detail for Brad Pitt’s highly anticipated Formula 1 film was revealed during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, sparking excitement among fans.
The film, simply titled *F1*, features an ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon, and is slated for a 2025 release. Production has been integrated with the 2024 Formula 1 calendar, offering an authentic backdrop for the movie’s storyline.
During the Grand Prix, which saw Lando Norris secure victory to clinch the Constructors’ Championship for McLaren, eagle-eyed spectators noticed what could be a significant spoiler for the film.
Brad Pitt, portraying the character Sonny Hayes, was spotted atop the podium alongside Mercedes driver George Russell and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Another photo captured Pitt celebrating on the podium with Javier Bardem, providing further clues about the film’s narrative direction.
Ahead of the race, Brad Pitt shared his thoughts about the project in an interview with Sky Sports, expressing his enthusiasm for being part of the F1 world: “I’ve got so much respect for these guys. What these drivers and cars can do. It’s off the charts. I’ve been having the time of my life. I wish it could go on another year. I might shed a tear! It’s really good fun. Our director said put actors in the car and bed ourselves in the weekend and make the best racing movie. I dare say we have done it.” – the American actor and film producer pointed out.
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion and future Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton has earned acclaim from producer Jerry Bruckheimer for his dedication to ensuring the upcoming F1 film remains authentic.
Bruckheimer lauded Hamilton’s hands-on involvement, emphasizing the driver’s commitment to capturing the true essence of the sport and bringing credibility to the project. He remarked: “Lewis keeps us honest. He looks at every race and he’d say, ‘you wouldn’t be in second gear in this moment. You’d be in first’ He comes in and he can hear the engine and the shifting and everything like that. So he looks at every race scene, and he also said, ‘in order to get one of these cars, you really have to be in shape’.” – he added – “So we had Brad training. We do a lot of stuff like that, thanks to his info.” – Jerry Bruckheimer concluded.
