LeBron James will be missing his first game of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, cited for left foot soreness.
The 39-year-old started feeling the soreness during the game against the Heat on Wednesday.
“We need to focus on playing in transition and making sure to get a touch in the paint on every possession. This was something we were doing well earlier in the season but have strayed away from recently,” said JJ Redick discussing the team’s strategy in James’ absence.
Austin Reaves will also be out for his fifth consecutive game due to a left pelvic contusion.
