11:21pm: According to MLB.com’s Christina De Nicola (X link), Infielder Echedry Vargas is making his way to Miami. Infielder Max Acosta is also joining the Fish, as reported by Robert Murray of FanSided (on X). Brayan Mendoza is completing the trade, according to ESPN’s Alden González (on X).
11:07pm: Corner infielder Jake Burger is being traded to the Rangers from the Marlins, says Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic (X link). In exchange, Miami will receive a trio of minor league players, as per Rosenthal (on X).
Adding Burger to the lineup will give the Rangers a more affordable bat and help improve their offense, which has been struggling this year.
