Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink revealed that her godbrother, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, played a key role in supporting her decision to join the Unrivaled basketball league.
“When the league was just forming, we talked about it,” Brink shared with PEOPLE.
“Steph is in full support. He thinks it’s a great idea and knows I love the fast-paced style of 3-on-3 basketball.”
Although Brink is officially joining the Lunar Owls team, she will not compete this season as she continues to recover from an ACL tear that cut her rookie year short.
Instead, the 22-year-old plans to use her time with Unrivaled to train, contribute to the league’s promotional efforts and prepare for her return to the court.
