According to a viral clip from 2020, Basketball legend Diana Taurasi spoke about Geno Auriemma. The Phoenix Mercury star revealed the other side of the head coach of the University Of Connecticut’s Women’s Basketball team. As per Taurasi, Auriemma’s mood swings revealed his feminine side. The 42-year-old athlete said- “He does, and you know we always say he’s probably a woman too. He’s got mood swings like a woman too. He’s got a little girl in him I guess.”
While talking about what made Geno Auriemma stand out in the race with respect to his coaching skills, Taurasi pointed out that he understood women very well. She said- “He gets in your head, he knows how to, he knows what buttons to push to get what he wants from his players and sometimes you don’t like it.” The viral clip talks about Auriemma’s life as a coach, his love for basketball, and his work ethic, and philosophy. Diana Taurasi Paid A Heart Touching Tribute To Her Former Coach Geno Auriemma
Recently, the UConn Huskies hosted the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on November 20 and Diana Taurasi was present to support her former team. The victory marked the 1217th spot on the Huskies’ list under their head coach Geno Auriemma. Taurasi paid tribute to her former coach Auriemma and expressed her gratitude too. She said- “I wanna thank you, coach… You told me all the things I needed to hear. To make me a better person, a better teammate, a better basketball player. And all those little things day by day, week by week, month by month, you start building this confidence.”She further added- “As I see everyone here, whether we played on the same team decades apart, we always put this jersey on to represent you (Auriemma). Because we know how much you love this team, the game of basketball, and your family.” Geno Auriemma is popular as the winningest coach in the NCAA 1 division. He holds the record of winning the most games with the highest winning percentage. Auriemma has coached the women’s basketball team in 2012 and 2016 and clinched gold in both the years
