Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla received a $35,000 fine from the NBA for his behavior towards a game official at the end of his team’s loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Mazzulla’s outburst came after his team was called for three technical fouls in the fourth quarter. One each for him, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum.
Following the game, Mazzulla was seen directing harsh words towards the referee. He later claimed that he was just trying to spread holiday cheer to the referee crew.

In a post-game interview, NBA crew chief Tony Brothers explained that Brown got his technical for questioning the integrity of an official, while Tatum received his for an overt action towards an official.

Brown expressed his frustration at Van Duyne calling a technical on him and Mazzulla without valid reasons.
