Eli Iserbyt claims GP Sven Nys in absence of Mathieu van der Poel

Eli Iserbyt from Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal secured his first victory since last November in the GP Sven Nys. He overcame a slow start and took the lead in the closing laps, ultimately riding away from his competitors. This win also helped Iserbyt extend his lead in the X2O Trophy.

Following Iserbyt, Pim Ronhaar from Baloise Glowi finished in second place, with Emiel Verstrynge from Crelan-Corendon coming in third.

With world champion Mathieu van der Poel absent, the field was open for a new winner in Baal.

Thibau Nys, the European champion, faced difficulties with his pedal early on, while Toon Aerts from Deschacht-Hens-FSP took the lead in Baal. Ronhaar also had a strong start, but Nys fell behind in the first mud section, allowing Daan Soete from Ridley to take the lead.

Verstrynge led at the end of the first lap and was soon joined by Ronhaar. Nys, despite his setback, managed to make progress but had to stop in the material zone to change a shoe, ultimately finishing fourth behind Belgian champion Eli Iserbyt from Pauwels Sauzen Bingoal.

Iserbyt caught up with the leaders on the fourth lap, while Nys dropped back behind Aerts. By the fifth lap, Iserbyt had pulled away from a fading Ronhaar and Verstrynge.

On the final lap, Iserbyt increased his lead over his two pursuers. Despite being challenged, he managed to maintain a significant advantage and secure the win.
