LSU star Flau’jae Johnson made a strong impact on the college basketball scene last season, averaging 14.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. In addition to basketball, Johnson is also known for her career as a rap music artist.
The Georgia native released her debut EP ‘Best of Both Worlds’ this summer and hosts a podcast with the same name on YouTube.
On a recent episode, WNBA champions Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance joined her for some playful banter.
They reminisced about Flau’jae Johnson’s appearance on Colson and Plaisance’s ‘The Syd + TP Show’ last year.
“First, I was nervous bro cause that was my first acting kind of thing like, with a script, but then, when I think Syd was there, she made it super cool,” Johnson said. … “and it was so funny, I knew it was going to be funny especially when y’all started rapping. The punch lines were set up perfect. It was great.” [Time Stamp – 2:21]
In a scripted segment, Flau’jae was working on an album and waiting for some artists in a studio. Sydney and Theresa played the role of the artists holding up the recording session.

Former Seattle Storm forward Theresa Plaisance described the experience in these words:
“It was also our first time with the script as well, and then you [Flau’jae] came in. We never did acting before, so we were pretending we knew what we were doing. Then you came in and said it was your first time, and we were like, ‘Dang!'” [2:59]
Flau’jae Johnson shares her thoughts ahead of her junior year
With two impressive seasons, Flau’jae Johnson has established herself as a rising star. She is expected to take on a bigger role at LSU this upcoming season and aims to become one of the nation’s top players.
“Being a junior now, you get a feel for everything that is going on,” Flau’jae said. “You don’t think too much about the [preseason], you think about getting on a roll at the right time and on a roll when SEC play comes around.
“It’s just about building right now, learning each other, and keeping that chemistry growing.”
In LSU’s first exhibition match against Xavier, Flau’jae Johnson had an outstanding performance, scoring 30 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Tigers dominated the game with a final score of 114-53.
