Angel Reese received a heartwarming surprise from her Rose Basketball Club teammates on Thursday. To celebrate Reese’s cover feature on Vogue’s 2025 Winter issue, the team decorated the locker room with gold balloons spelling out VOGUE, along with cupcakes and a bouquet of roses.
Rose BC posted a video of the special moment on Instagram with the caption:
“Making sure our Vogue Rose smells her flowers. Congrats Angel Reese.”
In the video, Angel Reese enters the room beaming with joy. The group enjoyed some cupcakes as part of the surprise. Reese took a moment to smell a rose from the bouquet presented by her Rose teammates.
Reese shared the surprise with her followers on Instagram, saying:
“My teammates are so sweet. I love them.”
She tagged the official Instagram page of Rose Basketball Club, which reposted Reese’s story with the caption:
“Our Vogue Rose.”
Rose BC is a part of Unrivaled, a new three-on-three league for players to compete in during the WNBA offseason, founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, set to begin on Jan. 17.
Collier and Stewart previously faced off in the 2024 WNBA Finals, which saw Stewart’s New York Liberty defeat Collier’s Minnesota Lynx in five games to claim their first championship.
Angel Reese’s Rose BC to debut in Unrivaled against Vinyl BC
Reese will team up with fellow WNBA All-Stars Chelsea Grey of the Las Vegas Aces and Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury. Coming off a remarkable season, Reese received a Rookie of the Year vote and set the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles with 15, along with the highest rebound average of 13.1.
After recovering from a wrist injury that cut short her rookie campaign, Reese is eager to make an impact with Rose BC as they kick off their season against Vinyl BC on Jan. 17.
