Former Chicago Sky teammate Marina Mabrey shared that she is forming a great bond with now-Connecticut Sun ally DiJonai Carrington.
During a behind-the-scenes shoot for the 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League, Mabrey revealed that she and Carrington are steadily building a friendship both on and off the court.
“She loves me, she’s all talk. That girl loves me to death. We’re building a friendship for sure. She brought some seasonings in a Louis bag and has to like me a little.”
Marina Mabrey was traded from the Sky to the Sun midway through last season and made a significant impact, while Carrington won the WNBA Most Improved Player award.
In the upcoming Unrivaled league, Mabrey and Carrington will be on opposing teams, providing an exciting matchup for fans.
The league will begin on Jan. 17 in Miami, Florida, and run until March 17, offering women’s professional players a platform to showcase their talents during the WNBA offseason.
