Anna Kournikova has been seen in public for the first time in two years – but in a worrying sight, the former world No. 1 doubles star was pictured in a wheelchair while visiting the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, Florida.

Kournikova, 43, who was once ranked No. 8 in the world in singles, was accompanied by her two daughters, Lucy, 7, and Maria, 5, along with friends. The retired athlete was also wearing an orthopedic boot on one foot, suggesting a recent injury.
The group was seen chatting and laughing in the shopping center’s car park, with Kournikova’s daughters dressed in adorable matching outfits of white shirts, baggy jeans and purple boots. Despite the worrying sight of the wheelchair and boot, the former tennis star appeared in good spirits.
Kournikova retired from professional tennis back in 2003, having won 16 career doubles titles, including the Australian Open in 1999 and 2002 alongside Martina Hingis. Despite her success in doubles, she never won a singles title but did reach the Wimbledon semifinals in 1997.
Away from the court, Kournikova made headlines when she began dating Spanish pop superstar Enrique Iglesias in 2001 after starring in his steamy music video for Escape. The couple has since welcomed three children – twins Lucy and Nicholas, born in December 2017, and Maria, born in January 2020.
While Iglesias has remained in the public eye, Kournikova has lived a low-key life, choosing to focus on raising their children in Miami.
