(\u003ca href=\”https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com/\” target=\”_blank\”>\u003cstrong>WBZ NewsRadio\u003c/strong>\u003c/a>) — As most schools in the state are closed for February vacation, three North Shore school districts kept their school doors open to make up for lost days from the teacher strikes last fall.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“Everybody gets hurt— parents, the kids, the teachers— especially the teachers, but they had to do it,” one Marblehead resident told WBZ NewsRadio.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Marblehead teachers went on a two-week strike in November after negotiations for their new contracts stalled for months on better wages and benefits. During those walked out days, students’ learning was also paused. Now, they are making it up.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“Somewhere or another it has to be made up,” she added. “[The teachers] deserve more money than they get.” \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The Marblehead School Board decided to cancel February break this academic year in order to reach the state-mandated 180 days of school by June 30.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Some residents and parents don’t think the kids should be the one paying the price of the strike.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“The adults are supposed to set the example, the children don’t have to pay,” one Marblehead man said. “They deserve a vacation.”\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Even though school is still in session, Marblehead Interim Superintendent John Robidioux said attendance rate still declined this week, down around 41% in middle and During the first trial, the defense called on crash reconstructionists from ARCCA to testify as part of its broader argument that Read was the victim of a coverup.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The prosecution has brought concerns about the two reconstructionists testifying in the second trial. Brennan alleged that the defense and the reconstructionists had more communication before they testified in the first trial than the defense had previously let on. He also alleges that ARCCA billed the defense for $23,925. \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>"It’s not the ARCCA witnesses that I have the issue with," Brennan said. about wind gusts even though hundreds of flights were delayed and cancelled over the holiday weekend.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“It’s very windy, but I think we’ll be fine,” a Minneapolis bound passenger told WBZ NewsRadio. “We’re used to that. It was fun watching the southerners play in the snow.”\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>A Florida bound flyer also don’t think the wind will cause major troubles. “I think we’ll have a smooth trip,” he said. \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>One anxious flyer said the wind does make them nervous heading into the sky, “but hopefully they’ll know if it’s too bad that we won’t take off.”\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Most passengers said they would rather take the delay to be safe than sorry. \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“[I] rather have a setback for sure for safety but I think it’s all going to be fine,” another flyer said.
