Fever Prez issued a warning to the 12 WNBA franchises.
Indiana Fever President of Basketball and Business Operations Kelly Krauskopf sent a warning to the remaining 12 teams ahead of the 2025 WNBA Season. Notably, the regular season for the 29th edition of the WNBA is set to begin on Friday, May 16, and will most likely come to an end on October 17.
With two months left for the 2025 season, Indiana Fever president Kelly Krauskopf sent a warning to the rival franchises. Notably, the Fever had an aggressive 2024 season, where they snapped their eight-year long playoff drought. The Fever were eliminated in the first round, but their performance had everyone talking as they finished the season with 20 wins and 20 losses.
Now that the franchise has gotten everyone’s hopes high, its executive Krauskopf assured fans about an exciting season ahead. Not only this, but she indirectly warned the other franchises stating that everyone on her side is hungry.
“I think you’re going to see a very hungry group of players. First, this is an extremely competitive group — that’s No. 1. Everybody likes to talk about it, but these players really are about that. They’re extremely competitive. They love the game,” Kelly said.
Ahead of the brand new season, the Fever added names like DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howaard, Sydney Colson, Jaelyn Brown, Brianna Turner and Sophie Cunningham to their roster.
Speaking about it, Kelly said, “We added players that like to play up-tempo, that like to get out and run, and score in transition. And I think you’re going to continue to see a fast-paced, really fun environment of basketball on the court that leads to a lot of scoring, a lot of fast-paced play.”

“It’s like I’m a rookie all over again”- Sophie Cunningham cannot contain excitement to play with Fever
The Indiana Fever acquired star guard Sophie Cunningham and the No. 19 selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft from the Phoenix Mercury last month.
Set to play her first season with the Fever, Cunningham walked into the team’s locker room for the first time. Needless to say, the 28-year-old star guard couldn’t contain her excitement. She was heard saying, “Oh gosh, this is the first time I’ve seen my jersey. I love this. It’s like I’m a rookie all over again.”
Not only this, but she also heaped praise on Caitlin Clark, who was adjudged Rookie of the Year in 2024.
Heaping praise and revealing her excitement to play alongside Caitlin, Sophie said, “She [Clark] has changed our game in the best possible way. I want her to go do her thing, and anything she needs from me, I’m gonna be here. I stick up for my teammates, I stick up for myself.”
Notably, Sophie was selected as the 13th overall pick in the 2019 draft by the Phoenix Mercury. She played 182 games for Phoenix and averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
