Angel Reese’s Rose Basketball Club took home the inaugural Unrivaled basketball championship on Monday night, and she was in the mood to celebrate thanks to a significant cash injection.
The Chicago Sky forward missed the final against Vinyl Basketball Club due to a hand injury, but as a member of the winning team, she earned a $50,000 bonus.
That’s on top of her undisclosed salary from Unrivaled. The brand-new, 3-on-3 league made women’s sports history with an average player salary of more than $200,000 and each member receiving equity in the league.Â
Thanks to her huge social media following and power to influence ratings, Reese likely commanded an Unrivaled salary closer to the reported $1 million offer that Caitlin Clark turned down to play in the league’s first season.
